The Eubios Ethics Institute was founded by Darryl Macer in 1990, in Christchurch, New Zealand and in Tsukuba Science City, Japan. In 2005 the main office moved to Thailand. Darryl Macer is honorary director. He was based in University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba Science City, Japan from 1990-2005. Since November 2004 he has been acting as the Regional Advisor on Social and Human Sciences for Asia and the Pacific, UNESCO Bangkok, 920 Sukhumvit Rd, Prakanong, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.

The Eubios Ethics Institute is a nonprofit group that aims to stimulate the international discussion of ethical issues, and how we may use technology in ways consistent with "good life" (eu-bios). It aims at an integrated and cross-cultural approach to bioethics, and at building up an international network. In May 1995 this world wide web site was created to disseminate information, and since then more documents have been put on open access from this web site in English and Japanese. More files will be added. Please note - there are no pictures in these files, only text and data - to save costs of downloading. All the publications of Eubios Ethics Institute are registered in the National Library of New Zealand, and Japanese language ones are also registered in Japan. The provision of the EJAIB, EEIN, high school teaching materials and books on this site should open the information to more people, and if you can receive the copy by Internet you may save the need for posting a hard copy.

The subscription fees are in the journal information, and orders can be Emailed or posted to:
