The Institute for Settlement Rabbis, Yeshivat Nir, Kiryat Arba, Israel, is establishing an International Information Centre for Jewish Law (Halacha) on biomedical ethics. We wish to serve the international bioethics community by providing information and answering specific bioethical questions from the standpoint of Jewish Law.

We have a team of twelve recognized and experienced rabbis who are researching Jewish Law and Bioethics, under the direction of Rabbi Yitshak Rodrig, Head of the Yeshiva. In addition, Dr. Frank Leavitt, of Ben-Gurion University, is acting as our voluntary advisor on international, cross cultural bioethics.

Questions on Halacha (Jewish Law) will be answered after consultation with distinguished and recognized orthodox rabbis in Israel. Questions may be sent by post or by FAX (+972-2-961778, Attn. Shmuel Lerman) in Hebrew, English, French, German or Spanish. (We hope to add electronic mail soon.) The service is without charge, but donations to cover postage and FAX costs will not be refused.
